Garcinia Cambogia is a small to medium size tree that grows in South Asia.  The rind of its fruit is high in a compound called hydroxycitric acid (HCA).  This extract has been shown to help reduce the body’s ability to store fat, decrease appetite and improve metabolism.

Citrus Aurantium is a citrus tree that bears a fruit called bitter orange.  It has been used for generations in herbal medicine as an appetite suppressant and more recently as a thermogenic aid.  It appears to improve metabolism by way of its active compound, synephrine.  This chemical appears to reduce appetite and boost metabolism without the negative side effects of increasing heart rate or blood pressure.  A 2002 article in the Journal of Medicine suggests that it may be the best thermogenic substitute for ephedra.
